Reflection:
This Geogebra lesson allowed students to explore the relationship between similar triangles, specifically the relationship between the sides and angles of each triangle. It introduces the Side-Side-Side Theorem and the Angle-Angle-Angle Theorem by having students identify the patterns they see between the triangles. Students are able to manipulate the triangles and see how they remain similar. I particularly like this lesson because the whole class starts with the same triangles so the students can work together on their own computers and compare answers to each other, but then they have the opportunity to work alone and make their own problems. Technology is so important in classrooms because it allows students to explore concepts in a medium that is becoming more and more prevalent in students' lives every day. Specifically in math, it allows students to manipulate problems that are difficult to manipulate with concrete materials. It gives them a new perspective on math problems instead of sitting and working with formulas that are provided to them. Plus, it's fun!
